The historical novel tells the adventures of the four friends Gottfried, Doctor Faustus, Aldwyn and von Jonathan, who set off in search of the so-called "Guardians", time travelers and guardians of humanity. However, before they can begin their journey to the Promised Land, they first have to overcome all kinds of obstacles together - they find mysterious scrolls, decipher secret writings, fight an "evil" order and get to know some illustrious characters during their adventures. An entertaining and instructive book which, in addition to the fictional story, relates many historical facts to each other and can therefore be read almost like a history book - only more entertaining. The peculiar language, adapted to ancient expressions, makes the characters seem authentic and alive. Places and people are described in great detail and with a great deal of narrative joy.
