We don't know where our soul is and whether it has a special place in our body. It may wander or disappear into a dark cave, as Wilhelm Busch suspected. And depending on where it is hiding, it influences our lives. This influence either inspires or mutes and my texts are also to be understood from this perspective. They are a cross-section of my writing life, intended to illuminate highs and lows or reveal my thoughts on various topics. They are atmospheric images captured over the years, a life lived and put into words that are naturally subject to the ravages of time. Now made accessible through this book, also for others who may find themselves smirking at one or the other text, who may even find themselves in it or read formulations quite differently than I intended. My freedom is the freedom of the reader. We are all right, because who can really understand the intricate paths of thoughts and feelings? So this book is an attempt to capture the soul, my soul.
